SSF 2024 Performance Intensive Workshops

Kamrah or Princess for a 6 hours mini intensive where dancers will learn and prepare an ALL New performance piece that will be shared on the main Auditorium stage.

Kamrah Raqs Kamrah is Chicago's first trans masculine belly dancer. He has been dancing since 2001, and has traveled all over the country to teach and perform in multiple styles of dance including transcultural fusion, Lebanese and American Cabaret-style raqs sharqi. Kamrah is known for his killer isolations, creativity and theatrical pieces.

Princess Farhana

Princess Farhana is an internationally acclaimed showgirl; belly dancer and neo-burlesque pioneer. She  is the author of the The Belly Dance Handbook: A Companion For The Serious Dancer (2013) and in the same year, she was the keynote speaker at BurlyCon in Seattle.  From 1997 onwards, she was one of the stars of America’s first and most well-known neo burlesque troupe The Velvet Hammer before becoming a principle dancer in Margaret Cho’s touring burlesque show, The Sensuous Woman. In 2017, Princess Farhana created Belle, Book And Candle, the monthly occult burlesque show by and for witches. Now in its seventh year, the show consistently sells out at the historic El Cid in Los Angeles.
